Olivia Reid, Women's Hockey

Olivia Reid (Aurora, ON) of the women’s hockey team is this week’s Supplement King Athlete of the Week.

Reid was a key component to the Tommies come back in the AUS finals against StFX, leading to the team’s first AUS Championship in program history.

In game two, with the Tommies trailing 1-0 early in the first period Reid scored 9 seconds after StFX opened the scoring to give the Tommies life. She also drew an assist on Megan Pardy’s game tying goal in the third period.

In game three back in Fredericton, Reid once again had the tying touch as she scored minutes after StFX opened the scoring again. Reid was sprung on a partial breakaway by Lauren Henman but was turned away. She stayed with the play and carried the puck around the net and tucked it home to tie the game.

The team will now head to PEI for U Sport Women’s Hockey National Championships with their first game being Friday night at 7:00pm against the McGill Martlets.
