Nikita McCartney, a first-year midfielder from Berry Mills, NB, is the STU Tommies Coastal Graphics Athlete of the Month for September.
McCartney has been a constant offensive threat on the pitch since joining the Tommies this fall. In six games, where the Tommies went 3-2-1, McCartney scored four goals and picked up one assist.
"Nikita's always looking for opportunities to score and has the speed, skill, and determination to make it happen," Tommies head coach Michelle DeCourcey said.
"She's by no means a one-dimensional player. She's a hardworking defender and smart playmaker in the middle of the park, and we're looking forward to seeing what she and the team can do next."
The Tommies are currently sitting in second place in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association with a record of 4-2-1, and McCartney is leading the conference in scoring with seven goals.
