Woods, Reid Earn AUS All-Conference Honours

Alex Woods and Olivia Reid of the St. Thomas University Tommies have been recognized with Atlantic University Sport women's hockey all-conference awards.

Woods, a second year defender from Courtice, ON, cracked the AUS first team all-conference, while Reid, a first-year forward from Aurora, ON, earned a spot on the conference's all-rookie team.

Woods has had a stellar sophomore season with the Green and Gold, tallying 23 points off six goals and 17 assists. She led the Tommies in scoring, was first in the AUS among blueliners, and eighth overall.

Reid, who joined the Tommies this fall from the Leaside Wildcats, put together a strong debut season in the AUS. Playing on the Tommies top line, Reid recorded 11 goals and five assists on the season to finish second in rookie scoring in the conference and fourth overall for the Tommies.

The Tommies recently earned their spot in the AUS best-of-three semifinal series after sweeping the UPEI Panthers two games to none in the quarterfinals. The Tommies will face the Saint Mary's Huskies with a chance to compete for the AUS title and a berth to the U SPORTS National Championships on the line. Game one of the semifinal series is Wednesday, February 21 in Halifax. Puck drop is at 7:00 pm.
