Athlete of the Month for February: Jonah Burridge, Men's Volleyball

Jonah Burridge, a fifth-year setter from Fort St. John, BC, is the STU Tommies Coastal Graphics Athlete of the Month for February.

The veteran Tommie led the Green and Gold to a record of 4-2 in February, including two playoff wins en route to the program's fifth Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association title in seven years.

"Jonah has been a leader for us all year. As the lone fifth-year player, he brought important experience to the floor with our young team," Tommies head coach Henri Mallet said.

"He was put in a difficult position, being asked to lead the offense as a setter after playing libero for the last four years, but he took on the challenge and performed when we needed him. Jonah played an important role in executing our game plans over the last month to help us win the ACAA Championship."

In six games, Burridge amassed 160 assists, 37 digs, and five service aces. He saved his best performance for the ACAA final, where he earned Player of the Game honours for his 47 assists, 12 digs, and two kills.

The Tommies will represent the ACAA at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Volleyball National Championships in Victoria, BC, March 7-10.
