Matthias grew up in Germany, and as a young 13-year old moved to Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. When he discovered school sports, he knew he wanted to be inolved in the industry.
Matthias attended Brock University and completed a Bachelor of Sport Management, while playing for the varsity soccer team. After Brock, he went on to attend George Brown College to take a specialty program in Sport and Event Marketing. Upon graduation, he was hired to run the extramural sports program at George Brown. Arriving on campus at St. Thomas University in September 2018, he brings a wealth of knowledge in the management of major sport events, being involved in U Sports national championships, Pan Am Games, and FIVB World Tour Finals.
