SEASON RECAP: Tommies Struggle in 2017-2018 Campaign

The St. Thomas University Tommies had another tough season in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association.

They started the season with a 2-2 record—topping the UKC Blue Devils and the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus Rams—but went on to drop their next eight matchups en route to a 4-17 regular season record.

Although the STU squad was in a three-way tie for the last playoff spot, the Rams won the season series and as hosts of the conference championship tournament claimed the final berth.

Highlights from the season included a 81-69 win over the Crandall University Chargers in February and multiple strong performances from senior Sam Drummond, who hit double digits on the score sheet in 11 out of 16 games played.

Rookies Carlo Theriault, Harrison Florean, Chandia Dralle, and Thomas Drummond showed much growth in their debut campaign and will be a reliable group for the Tommies team moving forward.
