Fredericton, NB – The St. Thomas University Tommies men's basketball team is adding experience to its 2018-19 roster.
Michael Otoo, from Ottawa, Ontario, will be joining the Green and Gold this fall after spending three seasons with the Mount Allison Mounties.
The five-foot-nine point guard is a product of Ottawa High School and started 18 games for the Mounties in 2015-16. After recovering from a traumatic brain injury—the result of an automobile pedestrian accident—he returned to the floor at the Ken Gould Basketball tournament hosted by STU in October 2017. He earned Player of the Game honours for his resiliency.

Tommies head coach Scott MacLeod is eager to add Otoo's experience to his young Tommies squad.
"We're pleased to have Michael join our team. His experience in the ACAA will be an asset to our program on the court and in the locker room."
Having played basketball since he was nine, Michael said he feels blessed to return to the ACAA and is looking forward to helping the Tommies achieve success this season.
"I want to thank coach MacLeod for giving me the opportunity to play the game I love again."
The Tommies first action at home will be at the Ken Gould Invitational, October 19-21. Purchase your season pass - early bird pricing in effect until July 31st at the O'Keefe Centre or click here for more details.
