The St. Thomas University Tommies men's basketball team is adding a new face to its 2018-19 roster.

Geoffrey Lavoie, Fredericton-born and Ottawa-raised, will be joining the team this fall following graduation from École Secondaire Béatrice-Desloges in Orléans, Ontario where he played on the varsity team for three years.

The six-foot-four 195 lbs wing Gloucester-Cumberland Basketball Association (GCBA) product has played the game since he was eight years old. More recently, he has played for the Brockville Blazers competing in the Canadian Youth Basketball League.

Having watched him play, Coach MacLeod is already familiar with Lavoie's skill set.

Geoffrey is the third recruit announced for the Tommies Men's Basketball team from the Nation's Capital region with Michael Otoo and Almin Dervisevic committed to coach MacLeod.

The Tommies will host the Ken Gould Basketball Invitational October 19-21 at the Lady Beaverbrook Gym.  Season Passes are on sale at the JB O'Keefe Fitness Centre - Basketball Season Passes are $40.00 and Tommies All-Sport Passes are $100.  For more details, email tickets@stu.ca or call (506) 460-0315
