Mounties Edge Tommies in Thrilling End
Fredericton, NB - The St Thomas University Tommies and the Mount Allison University Mounties played to a nail-biting finish on Friday evening at the Lady Beaverbrook Gym. The Mounties won by a score of 75-74.
Early in the match, the Mounties took control with some accurate shooting from Emanuel Adugna (Toronto, ON). He finished the match `11 points and five assists.

The Tommies went in behind at halftime but rallied in the second half to cut the lead down to within touching distance. The Tommies received huge contributions from Geoffrey Lavoie (Ottawa, ON), Gayo Isaya (Fredericton, NB) and Owen Amos (Miramichi, NB). Lavoie finished with 20 points while Isaya and Amos chipped in with 13 each.

The Tommies were being out rebounded at one point in the match and Rashawn Ferguson (Nassau, BAH) took advantage, helping himself to 20 points and nine rebounds. Lavoie put the Tommies into the lead with seconds left in the match. The Mounties then looked to their main man, and league leading-scorer, Noah McCarthy (Grand Falls, NB) to finish off the match for them with an unbeliaveble drive to the basket. His shot sent the crowd into disbelief and that was his 14th point of the match.

The Tommies' next game will take place in Saint John when they visit the University of New Brunswick Saint John. The Mounties will await the end of that game as they take on UNBSJ on Sunday.
