John Hunter and Kyle Yearwood Among ACAA's Best

John Hunter and Kyle Yearwood were among the top players in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association recognized with all-conference awards at the 2017 ACAA Soccer Championships.

Hunter was named a first team all-conference player for his strong performance at centre back. The second-year Tommie from Fredericton, NB, was the team's best player this season and was often counted on to challenge the opposition's top strikers.

"In his second year, John proved to be one of the best centre backs, consistently marking the league's best strikers," Tommies head coach John-Ryan Morrison said.

"He's a tough tackler, strong in the air and with the ball at his feet."

Yearwood, last year's team MVP, was named to the ACAA second team all-conference. In his second season with the Tommies, Yearwood netted three goals and used his versatility and athleticism to fill any role necessary.

"Kyle helped fill the gaps of an injury plagued season," Morrison said. "He is undoubtedly one of the best players in the league, and his tough tackles make him difficult to play against."
