Tommies and Seawolves Battle to a Draw

(Fredericton, NB)- In a physical affair between these two New Brunswick rivals neither team would give an inch resulting in a 1-1 draw.

First year striker George Gbongbor (Campbellton, NB) got the Seawolves off to a hot start as scored just 9 minutes into the match on a shot that pinballed around the box and got past Tommies' keeper, George Tzimas (Toronto, ON).

Both teams were hard on challenges from the opening whistle, resulting in minimal scoring opportunities at both ends of the pitch.

It wasn't until the 77th minute that the Tommies got on the board. Jatly Jardine (Bloomfield Ridge, NB) converted on a corner kick to knot the game up at one a piece. Despite some late pressure from both sides, neither would yield and both teams came away with a single point on the afternoon.

The Tommies will host the Dalhousie AC Rams Saturday, Sept. 22 at 4:00pm and the Seawolves will host the Holland College Hurricanes the same day at 4:00 in Saint John.
