Josh Niyonkuru has committed to play for St. Thomas Men's Soccer in 2019. Coming over from UNB as a transfer, Josh is excited about his opportunity to make a difference at STU. He noted, "I am hoping to bring some speed and excitement to the Tommies offence. I am really competitive and hard working so that will add to the team's already existing high standard. I am going to do my best to help the team achieve its goals"
Josh is looking to study Psychology and felt STU was the right academic fit and was impressed by the strong coaching staff and their high expectations for the team.
Coach Morrison is excited to have Josh join the team this coming fall having played against him last summer he got a feel for his ability and competitiveness. "My first encounter with Josh was playing against him and he went into a tackle with me that most players would avoid."
Now that Josh is going to play for the Tommies, Coach Morrison is even more excited about the upcoming season and the team's goal to win a banner. "I hope he can handle some pressure as he will be relied upon to be the spark on the offensive side of the ball and he could be a key component to achieving our goal of winning an ACAA banner."
