The St. Thomas University Tommies men's volleyball team has added its final piece for the 2017-2018 season.

Adam Hamilton, of Hartland, NB, will join the Green and Gold in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association following a two-year hiatus from volleyball to attend college.

"Adam hasn't played much volleyball over the last couple of years while he was in college, but we're confident that within a few months he'll be able to make an impact on the floor," Tommies head coach Henri Mallet said.

"Being physically strong, Adam will be able to bring some much needed attacking power to our roster."

Prior to his time away from the game, Hamilton was a member of the Hartland High School Huskies team that won three consecutive provincial 'A' titles from 2012 to 2015. He captained the team in his senior year and was named the team's most valuable player.

Hamilton also represented New Brunswick at the Eastern Elite Championships in St. John's, NL, as a member of the U16 squad.

Hamilton, who plays left-side, is excited to be a part of Tommies program.

"I'm excited to attend St. Thomas University to pursue volleyball and academics, and see what the future brings," Hamilton said.

It hasn't taken long for Hamilton to buy into coach Mallet's vision of winning a national championship.

"My main goal is definitely to win a national title. I'm extremely excited to do everything I can to help the team get there."

With the addition of Hamilton, Mallet has brought in five new recruits for the season—the largest Tommies men's volleyball recruiting class since 2013.
