Tommies Make it 6 Straight to Open Season

The St. Thomas University men's volleyball team remain undefeated after their back-to-back battle in the Pit against the Holland College Hurricanes on Sunday. With the 3-1 victory over Holland College, the Tommies men have won six straight matches. Set scores were 25-19, 23-25, 25-13, 25-16.

The Tommies were consistent both offensively and defensively, with Christian Christie (Langley, BC) knocking down 15 kills, Evan VanBuskirk (Miramichi, NB) digging up 15 attacks, and Henry Doucet (Truro, NS) tallying 35 assists.

The Hurricanes fought back in the second set, stepping up to the net to enforce blocking power. The team totalled 5 blocks for the game and were led by Aaron Pugh and Jeff MacDonald who combined for 21 kills. Libero, Zach Thibodeau, coming up with 13 digs throughout the game.

STU managed to defend their win-streak and home court with pride on Sunday and look forward to carrying on their undefeated season as they face UNBSJ Seawolves Friday, November 30th at LB Gym. First serve is set for 8:00pm. The Hurricanes host the Seawolves on December 2nd in the final men's game before the holiday break.
