Tommies Make Strides in 2019

The 2019-20 season was a growing year for the Tommies.

The six-man team of Tristan Eisnor, Alex Gallant, Daniel Ghosn Taimane, Cameron Miller, Lars Schwarz and Ryan Terry had a number of personal bests, as well as club records throughout the year.

Head coach Nicholas Larade couldn’t have been happier with how his team performed on the season.

“Being able to field six runners at the StFX and AUS meets was a great showing for the team and the program,” said Larade. “Our strong team finish at PEI was also a fantastic plus for the team this season.”

Along with the overall team performance, there were some strong individual performances as well, including Ryan Terry and Lars Schwarz during the UPEI meet. Schwarz would finish second overall and set the Tommies club record, while Terry would finish fourth overall.

“Not only did they both run very strong times in a heavy rain, but finishing second and fourth overall in the race was a great confidence booster two weeks out from the AUS Championships,” said Larade. “In addition to Lars and Ryan running fast races in PEI and at the Championships, Tristan Eisnor did really well coming in as a first year runner. His efforts this year should set a solid base for future seasons.”

Larade and a few of the team members will now turn their attention to the upcoming track season.
