The St. Thomas University Tommies lost a tough battle to the Holland College Hurricanes 83-72 in ACAA women's basketball Wednesday night at the Lady Beaverbrook Gym.

The Tommies were within striking distance at the break—they trailed 39-36—but a poor third quarter gave the Hurricanes the cushion they needed on route to their eighth win of the season.

Bridget Frazee was the leading scorer for the Tommies with 20 points off 67 per cent shooting from beyond the arc. Jessica Patenaude chipped in with 11 points.

Breauna Rivoli paced the Hurricanes with 24 points and seven steals.

The Tommies are back in action this weekend when they face the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus Rams and the UNBSJ Seawolves.
