Tommies’ Patenaude Named to ACAA First Team All-Conference

For the second time in her four-years as a Tommie, Jessica Patenaude was recognized as one of the top players in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association.

The fifth-year post from Charlottetown, PE, was selected as a member of the ACAA women's basketball first team all-conference at the championship awards banquet Friday night in Truro, NS.

Tommies head coach Fred Connors said his coaching staff is thrilled to see Patenaude receive this recognition.

"We're very proud of Jess and how she has grown as a player and a person throughout her four years," he said. "She's really worked hard this year to have a great final season and we're proud of what she's been able to accomplish."

Patenaude finished eighth in scoring in the ACAA averaging 13.8 points per game. She was third in the conference in rebounds with 132 and tenth in assists with 33. She also recorded 25 steals and nine blocks in 18 games played.

In the 2015-2016 season, Patenaude earned ACAA second team all-conference honours.

With the Tommies' 84-73 win over the University of King's College Blue Devils, Patenaude will make her third appearance in the conference semi-finals with the Green and Gold. The Tommies will take on the Mount Saint Vincent Mystics at 1:00 pm for their chance to advance to the ACAA final.
