The St. Thomas University Tommies dropped a tough 81-49 decision to the Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics in the ACAA women's basketball semifinal Saturday afternoon in Truro, NS.
The Tommies struggled throughout the game, turning the ball over 33 times and shooting a dismal 50 per cent from the free throw line.
The Mystics jumped to a 20-9 lead after the first quarter and led 42-21 at half en route to claiming their spot in the championship final.
Marika Williams sparked the Mystics with 15 points in the win, while Kate Gallant added 14 points and nine rebounds.
The Tommies were led by Lainy Dow, who connected for 13 points and eight rebounds. Jessica Patenaude chipped in with 10 points and six boards.
