Tommies Take Care of Business Against Seawolves

The St. Thomas University Tommies had an excellent first home pre-season win against UNBSJ Seawolves, 71-26.

The scoring for both sides was pretty even at the beginning, but the Tommies would settle in and came out stronger in the second quarter and never looked back.

Leading scorers for the Tommies were rookie Vanessa Soffee and 4th year guard Lainy Dow, each scoring 15 points.

The Tommies played a well-rounded game, with big moments coming from Becca MacNeil who finished the game off with 9pts, and 8 rebounds, and Bridget Frazee with 9 pts as well. Aggressive defence from Christina Richardson and Leila Rashid helped the Tommies keep the Seawolves from making any runs. Fredericton native Emily Fitzpatrick had 5 points and 6 rebounds to lead the Seawolves.

The Tommies are back in action next Friday as they kick off the annual Ken Gould Tournament. Game one kicks off against the Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics at 6pm.
