Coach Connors adds another ACAA transfer to load the Tommies for a championship run in 2019-2020.
Morgan McHatten a 5'8" forward is transfering from the Crandall Chargers of Moncton to attend St. Thomas in continuing her studies in Psychology while extending her basketball career.
McHatten, a graduate of the Woodstock High Thunder is excited about joining the Tommies: "I love the team first at atmosphere and the selflessness of each player and that sacrifices are made in order to compete and win. I admire the intensity, hard-work, fast pace, and defensive pressure that I have seen watching the Tommies over the years." Morgan, a three-time NBIAA AA Champion and High School athlete of the Year in the Senior season also mentions. " I am looking forward to playing along side these ladies and for the coaching staff. I will work hard to do my part in helping the team be successful in reaching the ultimate goal this season.”
Coach Fred Connors accepts a second transfer after recently announcing Kassidy Hamilton from UKC. " I was very surprised and excited when Morgan reached out to me. She is a player we have focused on and know how good she can be. She has impressed from the first meeting with her attitude and approach to basketball. I think her physicality and toughness are going to blend well and add to an already deep squad. We are very glad she has chosen to transfer to STU."
Morgan is the newest announcement to the Women's Basketball roster after naming Kassidy Hamilton, Abby Draper, Samantha Stordy, Cassy Hemphill, Bianca Hughes, and Emma Connors as recruits earlier.
