Women's Basketball Travels to Quebec for Preseason Tournament

The St. Thomas University women’s basketball team kicks of their 2018-2019 season on the road in Trois Riviere, Quebec. The Tommies went 11-7 last season and got a taste of the playoffs, winning their first game against University of King’s College, and then fell at the hands of a dominant Mount Saint Vincent University team.

Head Coach Fred Connors believes that the team has put in a lot of work and they have already seen some great results thus far.

“It’s an important weekend to set the tone for the season,” said Connors, who is entering his 17th season as head coach of the team. “Win or lose, we want to learn to compete together, to start the path to the ACAA playoffs.”

The Tommie’s start off against highly skilled opponent, Ste. Foy Dynamiques on Friday, September 28th at 6pm. Followed by a pair of games on Saturday, facing the St. Lambert Cavaliers at 12:00pm, and then the Édouard-Montpetit Lynx at 6:00pm. The final day the Tommie’s will be in action against the home team Trois-Rivières Diablos at 12:00pm.
