Tommies Unable to Overcome Mounties
Fredericton, NB - The Mount Allison University Mounties left Fredericton on Friday night with a win over the St. Thomas University Tommies by a score of 64-43.

The match was pedestrian during the first quarter with both teams unable to find their rhythm early on. Maddie Greatorex (Truro, NS) led the way after that for the Mounties as she finished with a game-high 15 points, with efficient shooting splits.

STU coach, Fred Connors, thought that his team played well defensively. He was disappointed with his team's offence during the game.

"We really didn't move the ball well on offence, we didn't really play together as a team," Connors said.

This was visible in the third quarter. The Tommies were restricted to only six points in the quarter, completing only one of 14 shots in the quarter.

The game was lost for STU after the third quarter, as the Mounties never looked like squandering their lead. They saw the game out despite the Tommies finding a new wind in their sails at the end of the match.
The Tommies' next game will take place in Saint John when they visit the University of New Brunswick Saint John. The Mounties will await the end of that game as they take on UNBSJ on Sunday.
