Panthers Edge Tommies in OT in Pre-season Tune Up

The St. Thomas University Tommies fell 2-1 in overtime to the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers in pre-season AUS women's hockey action Sunday afternoon.

The game was scoreless until the third period when STU hit the score sheet off a goal from Stephanie Ford. Danielle Ring picked up the assist on the Tommies marker.

The Panthers evened the score six minutes later when Dufrense finished a set up from Pellerin.

Tied 1-1 at the final buzzer, the game went into overtime. After five minutes of 4-on-4, neither team found the game-winning goal. In the second overtime—played 3-on-3—the Tommies killed a penalty but Faith Steve's potted the go-ahead goal moments after. 

Shots on goal favored the panthers 35-24, while both teams were scoreless on the powerplay. 

Abby Clarke played the first half of the game stopping 13 of 13 shots, while Taylor cook came on in relief and stopped 20 of 22.
