Tommies Edge Mounties 2-1 in Overtime

A two-goal performance from Becky Conner powered the St. Thomas University Tommies to a 2-1 overtime victory against the Mount Allison Mounties, Saturday night in Sackville.

The Tommies, who improved to 10-3-2 with the win, outshot the Mounties 44-19 in the game.

Conner opened the scoring 8:34 into the first period to give the Tommies a 1-0 lead, but the Mounties countered in the second stanza with a goal from Heather Richards.

After a scoreless third period, the game went into overtime with Conner netting the game-winning goal at 4:31.

Abby Clarke earned the win in net for the Tommies, while Kerri Martin, who stopped an impressive 42 shots, took the loss for the Mounties. 

The Green and Gold are back in action January 13 when they host the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleues. Game time is 7:00 pm.
