Woods Recognized Among Best in U SPORTS Women's Hockey

Tommies blueliner Alexandra Woods has been named a U SPORTS women's hockey second team All-Canadian.

The second-year student athlete from Courtice, ON, had a remarkable season in the Atlantic University Sport conference, tallying six goals and 17 assists in regular season play. Her 23 points was the best among defenders in U SPORTS women's hockey.

"Alex has shown herself as being an elite defender in not only the AUS but also in U SPORTS," Tommies head coach Peter Murphy said.  "She proved she's a dominant force on the ice that can lead a rush on offense and often be the first back to break up a counter attack."

Woods led the Tommies in scoring and was a plus-sixteen on the season—the fifth best ranking in the AUS and in U SPORTS.  The sophomore was also named to the AUS first team all-conference.
