The St. Thomas University Tommies have added Stephanie Goertzen for the 2019-20 season.

The Caledon, ON native has played 23 games for the Etobicoke Dolphins in the Provincial Women’s Hockey League. She has registered 3 goals and 4 assists in her 23 games.

Rookie Tristyn Elford also played for the Dolphins during her tiem in the PWHL.

"Stephanie is a smooth skating forward who plays a 200-foot game,” said head coach Peter Murphy of Goertzen’s style of play. “She has an offensive upside that will continue to develop, and she sees the game very well.  We are very pleased to add a winning player from a winning program to our Tommie family."

The Tommies currently hold a four point edge in the AUS standings and Goertzen marks the fourth recruit committed for the 2019-20 season, joining Emma Wilson, Erin Arsenault and Natania King

"When I arrived at STU, I felt welcomed by everyone which made me feel at home and having the opportunity to get to know Coach Peter I found he is a coach I want to play for,” said Goertzen. “After touring the campus and learning more about the athletic and academic programs I feel I will excel at St. Thomas. I can't wait to be a Tommie.”
