Tommies Best Mounties 46-12

The St. Thomas University Tommies bested the Mount Allison Mounties 46-12 in ACAA women's rugby action Sunday afternoon at Scotiabank Park South.

The Tommies opened the scoring early and held a 15-0 lead before the Mounties responded with a converted try to cut their deficit to 15-7. The Tommies countered on the next play with a converted try of their own and added an unconverted try for a 27-7 lead at halftime.

The Mounties came out strong in the second half and added another unconverted try to close the gap to 27-12. It was all Tommies after that though, as they scored two converted tries and one unconverted try to close out the game.

Jessica Sauter had two tries in the win for the Tommies, while Bailey Andrews, Becca Baker, Abbie LeBlanc, Victoria Mackenzie, and Emily Donelle each had singles. Donelle also had three conversions.

The Mounties were led in scoring by Kelsey MacKinnon, who had one try and one conversion. Jordan Schroecker added one try in a losing cause.
