Tommies Fall to MTA in Truth and Reconciliation Game 62-17
Fredericton, NB - The STU Tommies hosted their Truth and Reconciliation game on the Grant Harvey Turf, facing a strong Mount Allison squad. MTA came out firing, scoring a series of quick tries early in the match. Their aggressive start set the tone for the first half, where the Tommies found themselves on the back foot. By halftime, the visitors had established a 31-12 lead, capitalizing on their possession and pace.
Despite a determined effort by the Tommies, MTA's relentless pressure continued into the second half. Caitlin Woolard was a standout for the visitors, contributing nearly half of their points and proving difficult to contain in open play. The Tommies showed flashes of their potential with some hard-fought phases, but ultimately couldn't match MTA's consistent attacking play. Maleah Welton was standout for the Tommies scoring two tries. The final score saw the Mounties claim a 62-17 victory.
Still searching for their first win of the season, the Tommies will look to bounce back in their rematch against MTA on October 6th in Sackville.
