The Tommies currently have an undefeated record earning themselves the top seed in this weekend’s ACAA Championships. They will face the 4th seeded UNBSJ Seawolves Saturday, October 27th at 12:15pm.
The teams have faced each other twice this season, a 2-2 draw on September 16th in Fredericton and a 2-1 Tommies’ win on September 26th in Saint John.
The Tommies will be getting a boost for playoffs in the form of 3rd year midfielder Phoebe van der Muelen, who has missed a large portion of this season and has recently rejoined the team and is rounding into form.
If van der Muelen can repeat her success from last year’s playoffs, which led to her being named ACAA Female Athlete of the Week, the Tommies will have some added confidence. With 14 returning players from last year’s ACAA championship team, there is no lack of experience for the Tommies.
