Hurricanes Bounce Back to Post 3-2 Win Over Tommies

The St. Thomas University women's volleyball team fell 3-2 against the Holland Hurricanes in volleyball action on Sunday. After a tough back-and-fourth battle, the Tommies fell short in the fifth set. Set scores were 25-20, 20-25, 26-24, 23-25, 15-9 for the Hurricanes.

The Tommies were strong at the net, with Megan Mills (Fredericton, NB) and Hannah Millier (Fredericton, NB) collecting a total of 24 kills, and Millier denying the Hurricanes with 5 of the 10 team total blocks.

The Hurricanes fought back with offensive power from Taylor Allen, landing 13 kills, followed by Abby Hyndman and Zayley Murphey, who combined for 20 kills.

"We fought hard today, and came out to win in the third set. Unfortunately, there were too many unforced errors in the fifth set and we fell short," noted Millier.

Battling hard in the second and fourth sets and despite the loss, the Tommies did well in defending their home court after a back-to-back match-up against the Hurricanes.

The Tommies will take on the UNBSJ Seawolves at the LB Gym on Friday, 30 November. First serve is scheduled for 6:00pm. The Hurricanes will host the MTA Mounties that same day, beginning at 7:00pm.
