Head Coach Don McKay is excited to announce that Madison (Maddie) MacGregor will be joining the Green & Gold.
Madison is captain of her high school team, Cobequid Educational Centre in Truro NS, and also plays for Truro Cougar Volleyball 18U Club team. At 5' 11", she can play middle and right side. Her CEC High School teams have won several Provincial Championships and was a member of the Nova Scotia Provincial Program the last 2 years and was a member of the NS Canada Cup team that travelled to Richmond BC last summer.
Madison plans to complete her Bachelor of Arts with the intent to enter into the Social Work program.
"STU had the best academic option for me while also giving me an amazing chance to continue playing volleyball. I enjoyed my visit to Fredericton and the campus. I am extremely excited to have this opportunity and am looking forward to September."
Aside from being an excellent student and volleyball player, Madison volunteers working with children, in the shared reading program at CEC, and acts as a coaching assistant at the CEC volleyball summer camps.
Coach Don McKay is very excited to have Madison on board. "I am so pleased that Madison has decided to choose St Thomas and our program to continue her academic and athletic careers. I believe she will become a difference maker at our level. She is a determined player who wants to do better and support her teammates to attain success. Her ability to play various positions, her height and athleticism will be a great fit with the strong athletes currently in our program. I am excited to start the season with a group of talented players and I am sure Maddie will fit right in!"
