Tommies Capitalize on Chargers Second Half Collapse, STU Takes it 58-37.

MONCTON, NB - STU Tommies came into Crandall University Sunday afternoon and handed the Chargers their third consecutive loss with a score of 58-37.

 

Crandall had a one point lead after the opening quarter with STU coming back to take a two point lead into the half. The second half was all Tommies, shooting 39.8% from the field compared to the Chargers 22.6%.

 

Kassidy Hamilton was the Chargers leading scorer with 11 points, while also accounting for 6 rebounds and a trio of steals. 

 

Alexa Rancourt is continuing to play as the Chargers true Big, hauling in 12 rebounds and going 4/6 from the free throw line leading to her 8 point game.

 

Alyssa Jeffrey was on fire from beyond the arc draining 4 long balls en route to being the Tommies leading scorer with 16 points.

 

Jaiden Penney racked up 33 minutes of play and secured 13 of STU's 40 total team rebounds.

 

The Chargers have slid to 1-3 on the season with an opportunity to close out the first half of the season on a positive note as they will host Holland followed by MSVU on Friday and Sunday of next week.
