Chargers Topple Tommies 102-95

MONCTON, NB - The Crandall Chargers took care of the STU Tommies Sunday afternoon with a final score of 102-95.

 

It was a tough physical game as the referees were not shy in blowing their whistles with a total of 42 personal fouls called, a pair of Tommies fouling out and Chargers Coach Todd McKillop getting charged a technical foul.

 

Brett Curtis led the scoring for the Chargers with a total of 22 points with 4 of his buckets from the field coming from beyond the arc.

 

Devon Glenn had a big game all over the court recording 17 points and high pointing 7 defensive rebounds.

 

Marc Hofer had a good showing making the most of his 14 minutes on the court drawing multiple fouls and going a perfect 6 for 6 from the free throw line. Tyray Cooper contributed a solid 14 points coming off the bench as the sixth man.

 

Vincent Lyttleton led the scoring for the Tommies going 6 of 10 from beyond the arc totaling 28 points. Tanner Hoyt also had a big game accounting for 20 points.

 

Gayo Isaya led STU with 12 boards alongside dishing out 5 assists.

 

STU lost their two starting big men Geoffrey Lavoie and Harrison Florean in the fourth quarter after both players fouled out.

 

Crandall enter a three game homestand next week as they will resume their suspended game against Mount A Wednesday evening before hosting Holland Friday and capping it off Sunday against MSVU.

 

The Chargers will resume the suspended match against Mount Allison on Wednesday evening. Play will resume where the match left off in the second quarter with the Chargers leading 31-30.
