The UNBSJ Seawolves hosted the league-leading STU Tommies in women's basketball Saturday in Saint John.
The Tommies came out flying in the first quarter opening up a 29-8 lead and they held a 42-23 lead at half time before finishing off the Seawolves 71-41.
Sam Stordy scored 16 points to the lead the Tommies. Madison Owens added 10 points while Mary Besselink grabbed 7 rebounds. Bailey Henderson scored 10 points and added 7 rebounds for the Seawolves. Lexi Hawryluk contributed 9 points.
The Tommies improved to 9-2 to solidify their hold on 1st place. The Seawolves fell to 0-9 and sit in 7th place.
The Seawolves travel to MSVU February 27 for a 3:30pm matchup with the Mystics. The Tommies next see action when they host Holland College March 5 at 2:00pm.
