Seawolves Win Ken Gould Tournament With Win Over Tommies

(Fredericton, NB) In a game that would determine the winner of the men's side of the Ken Gould Tournament, the UNBSJ Seawolves defeated the St Thomas Tommies 92-71.

The Seawolves went undefeated in the tournament, with Hunter Gray earning tournament MVP, and his brother Keegan Gray being named tournament All-Star.

The Seawolves came out of the gate firing on all cylinders as they opened the game on a 24-6 run. The Tommies would close that gap to 28-16 by the end of the quarter, but that's as close as they would come.

Leading the way for the Seawolves was Tanner Hoyt who shot an impressive 13/18 from the field on his way to a game high 31 points, and being named Player of the Game. First-year forward Geoffrey Lavoie (Ottawa, ON) came off the bench to give the Tommies quality minutes and chipped in with 13 points and 3 steals to be the Player of the Game for the Tommies. Carlo Theriault (Campbellton, NB) continued his impressive start to the year with 16 points in the losing effort. He was named to the tournament All-Star team for the Tommies.

The Tommies will head to Holland College to face the Hurricanes on October 27th to open the regular season.
