Jekyll and Hyde. That was the story of the St. Thomas University men's basketball game against the visiting MSVU Mystics.

The Tommies got off to a great start, leading the Mystics 21-17 after the first quarter.

It remained a close game going into the half, as MSVU grabbed a 35-34 lead.

That's when Hyde showed up. The Tommies were outscored 40-19 in the second half on their way to a 75-53 loss. MSVU outrebounded STU, 51-24.

"First half we were right there with them," said head coach Scott MacLeod. "We knew they could go off at any point, and they did in the 3^rd quarter. We had a hard time slowing them down. Then they started rushing us and we started rushing ourselves. We are still a very young team."

Tario Sands led the Mystics with 21 points and 9 rebounds off the bench. Geoffrey Lavoie (Ottawa, ON) gave the Tommies a boost with 15 points before fouling out in the 4^th quarter.

Both teams are on the road Sunday as STU heads to MTA to face the Mounties, while MSVU travels to Crandall to tip off with the Chargers.
