Tommies Earn 102-88 Victory over Seawolves

Fredericton, NB – Gayo Isaya (Fredericton, NB) scored 20 points in a 102-88 win for the St. Thomas University Tommies over the University of New Brunswick Saint John Seawolves on Sunday afternoon at Lady Beaverbrook Gym.

The result was most important even though coach, John Hickey, is focused more on the defensive aspects rather than the attacking aspects for his team.

"Our focus isn't how many we're going to put up, it's how many we're giving up so right now we're just giving up too many points."

Isaya also put up five rebounds, one assist and two steals. He was also helped by a double-double by Harrison Florean (Fredericton, NB). He finished the match with 16 points and 10 rebounds. The Tommies had all five starting players in double-figures and another one coming off the bench.

In preparation for the double-header next weekend, Hickey is already thinking about his training routine.

"We've been working on it for a while but we got to change what we're doing in practice because we're giving up too many points."

The Tommies next game will be on Saturday when they host the University of King's College at home. The Seawolves next game will also be on Saturday when they host Mount Saint Vincent University
