The St. Thomas University men’s volleyball team is excited to announce the addition of Tobi Archibald to the program.

A setter from Aylesford, Nova Scotia, Archibald led the West Kings District High School team to an undefeated season in 2021-2022 and was named the Support4Support Junior Athlete of the Year for Volleyball Nova Scotia. Notably, he was selected to the Team Nova Scotia roster that will be participating at the 2022 Canada Games in Niagara, Ontario from August 16th to August 21st.

Head Coach Henri Mallet is looking forward to tapping into Archibald’s potential.

“It can be sometimes difficult to find college/university ready setters in Atlantic Canada, but Tobi (Archibald) is an exception. He has big-game experience playing for Team Nova Scotia over the years and we look forward to having him compete at a high level with incoming recruit Raphael Fiset (Calgary, AB) for years to come,” Mallet said.

For Archibald, teamwork will be the asset he homes in on once he arrives on campus later this summer.

“My goal right away is to create good chemistry on and off the court with my teammates, as that is what I think is the most important part of being a great team,” Archibald said.

“I think one of the best assets I’m going to bring to the program is my intensity in games and in practice”, he added.

Archibald is no stranger to the ACAA, having three older brothers suit up for the Holland College Hurricanes.

Archibald is the fourth recruit of the 2022-2023 class joining Raphael Fiset (Calgary, AB), Brenton Romanchuck (Dewberry, AB), and Nathan Hara (Ajax, ON).
