Tommies Byers not sellers with new recruits

Aislynn Byers of Dundalk, ON is the latest addition to the defending AUS Champion Tommies’ roster for the upcoming season.

Byers is a defender who played the past two seasons with the Oakville Hornets of the PWHL.  She scored 4 goals and 8 assists over 74 games with 34 penalty minutes.

Coach Murphy sees a big upside to the incoming blueliner.

“Aislynn impressed me in her grade 11 year and I was very pleased to be able to recruit her to our program.  She already does many little things well and has great on ice awareness, a quality first pass and overall agility.  All of these and her willingness to improve will help her at the next level.”

Byers sees St. Thomas as a great fit for her future.  “After meeting the team I felt very much at home and liked St. Thomas because of its small town environment and their excellent Bachelor of Education program.”

The Tommies graduated seven players from their current roster and are looking to reload heading into this season.

Byers joins previously announced recruits, Erin Arsenault (Burlington, ON), Emma Wilson (Midhurst, ON), Stephanie Goertzen (Brampton, ON), and Natania King (Sudbury, ON).
