Jayci Peck Takes Home Rookie of the Year

Tommies' rookie Jayci Peck was awarded the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association Rookie of the Year after an outstanding season in her first year at St. Thomas University.

The rookie striker from Woodstock, NB scored six goals in 11 games this season, including a multi-goal game which saw Peck score twice in a 5-1 win over the DAL AC Rams on Oct. 1.

Peck said she felt she had worked hard for the award.

“I’m really excited,” Peck said. “I’ve worked really hard for this and the team behind me gave me a lot of encouragement.”

Tommies' head coach Michelle DeCourcey said Peck was her top attacker all season.

"Jayci was our top attacker during this year’s campaign," she said of Peck. "Her explosive speed and ability to turn defenders made her a thorn in opposing defenders sides."
