Mounties Move on with 3-2 Win Over Tommies

The St. Thomas University Tommies women's volleyball season had their season ended at the hands of the Mount Allison University Mounties Friday afternoon in quarter-final action of the ACAA Championships.

The Tommies fell in a dramatic five set thriller, 3-2 (22-25, 25-15, 22-25, 25-21, 16-14).

The Tommies were led by their pair of ACAA All-Stars Megan Mills (Fredericton, NB) who had a game high 17 kills and Hannah Millier (Fredericton, NB) had 10 kills.

"A lot of ups and downs and back and forth play," said head coach Don McKay. "We lacked execution at times but was very pleased with how we fought to the end."

McKay has carried a very deep team all season, and he utilized that depth throughout the entirety of the match.

"We had great contributions from our bench. Having Hannah go down with an ankle injury was a concern, but Cloee Daigle and Krysteena Clements were solid in the middle until she could come back," said McKay. "Our first year players Jolie Allain and Caitlin Jones were great in their roles today, and Emily Dickson is such a strong athlete and competitor. She will be a force in this league for years to come."

The Tommies will take the offseason to reset and get ready to make another run in 2019-20.
