Tommies Battle Back to Beat Seawolves

Fredericton, NB- The St. Thomas University Tommies handed the University of New Brunswick Saint John Seawolves their fourth straight loss with a 3-1 (23-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-17) loss.

The Seawolves jumped out of the gate, taking the opening set thanks in part to Montanna Meyer and Dayna Alexander who would combine for 20 kills on the day.

Coming into the contest the Seawolves were 2-7, but Tommies head coach, Don McKay, knew they couldn't be taken lightly.

"They are solid, have some good arms and height. Its fun to play them as well because of them having players like Megan LeBlanc and Bridgitte Boon, who Hannah Millier and Megan Mills both have connections to."

After the first set the Tommies got behind the home crowd and won the final three sets to the match, being led offensively by Mills, who finished with 15 kills, and Millier who had 9 kills and 7 service aces.

The Tommies will travel to UKC on Sunday for an afternoon match in Halifax, while the Seawolves will host the Tommies next Friday.
