St. Thomas University Athletics Welcomes Aidan Butler to Men's Soccer Program

Fredericton,NB - St. Thomas University (STU) Athletics proudly announces the addition of Aidan Butler to the men's soccer program. Hailing from Toronto, Ontario, Aidan brings a winning attitude to the Tommies roster.

Aidan Butler comes to STU with an impressive background, having attended Donald A Wilson High School and playing for Club Team Pickering FC U17 in OPDL. When asked why he chose St. Thomas University, Aidan explained, "After an extensive university recruiting process, I confidently selected St. Thomas University for several reasons. Firstly, St. Thomas stands out as a premier academic institution, aligning perfectly with my desire to become a high school history teacher. Secondly, the soccer program at STU is unparalleled, boasting a winning culture that was very evident during my visit to New Brunswick. Lastly, the exceptional individuals comprising the team, including Head Coach JR, coupled with the breathtaking campus and state-of-the-art facilities, solidified my decision with ease."

Aidan Butler is poised to make a significant impact on the Tommies Soccer Team. "I bring a winning attitude, an unwavering work ethic, and my natural leadership abilities to the Tommies Soccer Team!" exclaimed Aidan.

Head Coach JR Morrison expressed his enthusiasm about Aidan joining the team, stating, "With Liam graduating after a great 4-year run with the Tommies, we were in the market for a third keeper to add to our keeper union. We were patient knowing that we had two top keepers already so we wanted to make sure any recruit we brought in was at the highest level to push the other two, and we think Aidan could be that guy. He is confident, has a solid soccer CV, he is committed to improving at the highest level, and wants to help push the keeper union to improve as a whole, all things that we were looking for."

Looking ahead to the 2024 season, Aidan outlined his goals: "My goals for the 2024 season are straightforward. I pledge to never be outworked, striving to earn my playing time through exemplary performance both on and off the pitch. I am committed to being the ultimate teammate, fostering a culture of camaraderie and growth alongside the talented goalkeepers already on the STU roster."

St. Thomas University Athletics is excited to welcome Aidan Butler to the Tommies family and looks forward to his contributions both on and off the field.
