The St. Thomas Women's Hockey team has bolstered the crease with the addition of ACAC transfer Elizabeth Campbell.

"I am very excited to be part of the Tommies family and move out East," mentions the Red Deer Chiefs 18U AAA alum.

Wanting to progress her academics as well as her hockey career was important.  The Black Diamond, AB native lines herself up to the Tommies mentality of the development of the whole person.  "I wanted be a part of a team with such determination and commitment to not only hockey, but to education as well."

Head Coach Peter Murphy feels that Campbell will provide immediate depth in goal.  "Everything we have heard about Elizabeth has been incredibly positive.  She is a player of high character and tremendous work ethic who wants to get better at every opportunity."

The Tommies were able to take in some competition at the late stages of the 2020-2021 academic year and new players were able to showcase their commitment to the program.  Next year, it will be a double-cohort of 1st year of eligibility players who will be put to the test of carving their identity.

"In speaking with Elizabeth, I was very impressed and has the determination to become an impact player in our program," added the veteran bench boss.  This mentality will support the goal of reaching another AUS Championships after the 2019 magical run.

Elizabeth is the fourth newest addition to the Women's Hockey roster for 2021-2022 season along with Olivia Stock, Natalie McKay and Martina Barclay.
