The St. Thomas University Tommies have added Emma Pye from the University of Waterloo Warriors for the 2021-22 season.

The 5’9” forward is coming to STU after four years with Waterloo, where she had 19 goals and 20 assists in her first three seasons with the Warriors.

“Emma brings size and an offensive touch to her game,” said head coach Peter Murphy. “She skates the game well and has the ability to move and support the puck in all zones.”

The reputation that both STU and the Fredericton community hold were a few of the deciding factors on Pye transferring to the East Coast.

“I chose St. Thomas because of how many incredible opportunities the tight-knit community will provide me with both academically and athletically,” said Pye. “The education program is well known for providing students with the best possible practices and classroom experience and I can’t wait to be a part of that.”

Pye will bring her four years of U Sport experience to the Tommies, which is one of the reasons Murphy is looking forward to having her don the Green and Gold.

“The ability to add an experienced player to your group is always an added bonus and we look forward to getting her on the ice in the Green and Gold.”

The Tommies will open their regular season schedule in Moncton against the Aigles Bleues on October 8th.
