Two Tommies Earn Spots on All-Conference Teams

The St. Thomas Tommies has a bounce back year, sneaking into the playoffs as the fourth-seeded team. This season's team will feature two All-Conerence players - Kaleigh Roberts (Moncton, NB) on the All-Conference First Team and Erin Smal (Fredericton, NB) on the All-Conference Second Team.

Roberts will end her Tommies career having been on an All-Conference Team every season she played, making the Second Team her first two seasons in 2017-18 and 2018-19, and making the First Team in 2019-20, 2021-22 and 2022-23. She played 61 regular season games for the Tommies and won the ACAA championship in 2017-18.

"Kaleigh is the top defender in our league," said Michelle DeCourcey, Tommies' head coach. "An ACAA All-Star during all her seasons with the Tommies, she has played 90 minutes of every game since joining our squad. Kaleigh is a natural and inclusive leader. She’s been a team captain since her second year and is our key organizer on and off the pitch."

Smal, a second-year winger for the Tommies who played for the University of New Brunswick Reds in 2019-20, played 11 games STU this year. Smal's contributions helped push STU back into the playoffs.
