Hickman, Hall, and Relay Team Set New STU Records at Greater Boston Track Invitational

It was a banner weekend for the St. Thomas University Tommies at the Greater Boston Track Invitational held at Harvard University.

The 4x200m relay team of Brynn Gilmour, Chelsey Hall, Hannah Clarke, and Sarah Hickman continued their strong performance at the event, placing first in their heat and first overall.

On their way to setting a new STU record, Gilmour opened the relay up with a blistering 200m leg, putting the Tommies in an early lead. Hall, running second, widened the gap allowing Clarke to maintain the first-place position before passing the baton to Hickman for the fourth and final leg. The team's time of 1:54 was an improvement of four seconds on the previous STU record.

On the individual events side, it was a memorable day for Hickman as she was an asset to the women's 2x400m team that set a new school record. The third-year runner also set two new STU records in the 200m and 300m races with times of 28.37 and 45.24, respectively.

Hall, also a member of the record-setting relay team, broke her own personal record and STU record in the 600m with a time of 1:42.86.

Both Gilmour and Clarke ran personal bests in the 200m race. Gilmore finished with a respectable 29.50 and Clarke won her heat in 29.53.

Alaina Mejia tore up the track for the Tommies in the long distance races. Mejia set two new season records in both the 3000m and 1000m at the Harvard Stadium.

The Tommies will compete in one more meet before they travel to Moncton for the Atlantic University Sport championships February 23-24.
