Tommies Hand Chargers Eighth Loss of Season

The St. Thomas University Tommies defeated the Crandall University Chargers 3-0 (25-12, 25-12, 25-13) on Saturday afternoon at the Lady Beaverbrook Gymnasium.

The Tommies got off to a slow start in the match, with the Chargers holding a 9-6 lead before the Tommies finished the set on a 19-3 run to close it out and never look back in the match.

"We were hesitant off the start because we didn't know what to expect having never faced them before, only seeing them in film," said Tommies head coach Don McKay. "We are very pleased with the 3-0 win."

Hannah Millier and Megan Mills led the Tommies with 5 kills each, while Melora Cook had a game high 8 for the Chargers.

The Tommies now find themselves in fourth place in the ACAA standings with a match against the UNBSJ Seawolves on Sunday to close out the 2019 portion of the ACAA schedule.
