SEASON RECAP: Tommies Experience Growing Pains In 2015-16

The men's basketball team at St. Thomas University went through some growing pains this season.

As a young team—with five new recruits and only one senior on the roster—the Tommies got off to a slow start. With an increasingly competitive ACAA conference, the team struggled early and managed only one regular season win in the first semester.

In the second half of the season, the Tommies experienced some success. A couple of big wins—one over the Mount Allison Mounties and the other over the UNBSJ Seawolves—put the team within striking distance of a playoff spot. Unfortunately, a tough six-point loss to the MSVU Mystics and a five-point loss to the Mounties late in the season put the playoffs just out of reach for the Tommies.

They did end on a winning note though, defeating the Seawolves 70-58 in the final game of the regular season.
