Track and Field Award Winners 2014-15

Congratulations to this year's award winners:

T/F Rookie of the year - Shannon Morris
Shannon, from Saint John, NB, finished her first year with a 6th place finish in the weight throw and an 11th place finish in the shot put. She is STU's new record holder in the weight throw and there is little doubt that she will eventually own the shot put record.

T/F Unsung Heroes: Jamie Graham and Alec Gregg
Jamie and Alec, in his second-year from Fredericton,NB, both set a mood for our team that anything was possible. They trained hard and saw huge improvements in their performances. Both runners broke the 8 second barrier in the 60 meters and were the foundation for our record breaking men's 4*200 relay team

Female Most valuable athlete is - Lainy Nethercoat
Lainy broke the STU weight throw record first before Shannon broke it again on her next throw at the NB Indoors. Lainy then went on to break her personal best in the weight throw at the AUS Championships to finish 7th in the conference. She accomplished her results through hard work and determination.

Male Most valuable athlete is - Jonathan Gionet
Jonathan is a third-year student from Bathurst, NB, who captured gold in the shot put at the AUS Championships to become STU's very first individual medalist and the first athlete to qualify for the CIS Championships. He has been a role model for our team through his determination and perseverance.
